Mark Dirven, DVM, ECVIM-CA (Cardiology)
DVM, European Veterinary Cardiologist, Associate Editor of the Journal of Veterinary Cardiology and Board Member of the European Society of Veterinary Cardiology.
Mark graduated from Utrecht University in 2004. Since then, Mark has worked as a clinician in cardiology, ultrasonography and internal medicine in several veterinary clinics in the Netherlands.
In January 2012, Mark started an ECVIM-CA (Cardiology) approved residency training program, combining his work in private practice with residency training in cardiology and internal medicine. In March 2017, Mark passed the certification exam and became a European Diplomate in Cardiology (Diplomate ECVIM-CA Cardiology), and now he is one of the few cardiologists in the Netherlands.
Mark has worked as a cardiologist and a discipline leader at the Utrecht University Teaching Animal Hospital and a private referral center. He is not only responsible for clinical work, but also a training leader for large animal medical groups.
Mark is very good at training in echocardiography and has taught echocardiography training courses in various countries and regions in Europe and Asia. He has also led many clinical research projects and co-published dozens of articles.
