Tariq Abou-Zahr
Tariq Abou-Zahr graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Bristol in 2014. He then completed the RCVS Small Animal General Veterinary Career Development Programme at Summerhill Vets Hospital in Newport, South Wales. He then began his 4-year ECZM internship and residency at Great Western Exotic Vets in Swindon. After completing his residency, he returned to Wales and currently works at Valley Vets Hospital in Cardiff.
In 2018 he obtained the RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Medicine (Animal Medicine) (CertAVP) at the University of Edinburgh, with distinction in his final comprehensive examinations. In 2021 he obtained the ECZM Specialist Certification in European College of Veterinary Medicine and the EBVS Specialist Certification in European Veterinary Specialists in Animal Medicine.
In 2022 he obtained the RCVS Specialist Certification in Zoo and Wildlife Medicine.
Tariq has lectured on exotic pet medicine around the world and has published numerous research papers in animal medicine. Tariq has been an exotic pet enthusiast since childhood. He got his first pair of budgies at age 7 (Sparky and Spangles) and a corn snake at age 11 (Fred). His first pet parrot was a Golden Sun Parrot named Mango. Throughout his teenage years, he kept rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, fish, and a variety of reptiles and birds. He has also bred many species of birds and reptiles. He also competed in pigeon racing and show racing for several years with Silver/Gold Sebright Bantams, his favorite chicken breed. He still keeps a small flock of birds and reptiles.
Tariq is an advocate for responsible exotic pet ownership and believes that proper husbandry is essential to ensure the quality of life of exotic pets. He is also an advocate for proper medical care for all exotic pets.

Femke Bosma
Graduated from Utrecht University in early 2016 with a degree in small animal veterinary medicine. After graduation, she first worked in a large veterinary clinic in the west of the Netherlands. After more than two years, she decided to leave the Netherlands and went to New Zealand and worked in a primary veterinary clinic in the center of Auckland for a year. She then returned to the Netherlands and joined MCD (Medisch Centrum voor Dieren, Animal Medical Center) in Amsterdam. She has been receiving specialist training in radiology since September 2019. She found her career direction in the field of diagnostic imaging and continued to learn at work, encountering many interesting cases every day, and obtained the European Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging Expert in 2023.
In her free time, she likes to get away from the dark working environment and immerse herself in nature and enjoy outdoor activities. She likes to walk with her dog, ride a road bike or play tennis and hike to enjoy the beauty of nature.

Mark Dirven, DVM, ECVIM-CA (Cardiology)
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology within the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM-CA), Associate Editor-in-Chief of the *Journal of Veterinary Cardiology*, and also a board member of the European Society of Veterinary Cardiology.

Mark graduated from Utrecht University in the Netherlands in 2004. Since then, Mark has worked as a clinician in cardiology, ultrasonography, and internal medicine at several veterinary clinics in the Netherlands.

In January 2012, Mark started the ECVIM-CA (Cardiology) approved residency training program, combining his work at a private clinic with the residency training in cardiology and internal medicine. In March 2017, Mark passed the certification examination and became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in Cardiology (Diplomate ECVIM-CA Cardiology). Now he is one of the few cardiology specialists in the Netherlands.

Mark has served as a cardiology specialist and a subject leader at the University College Utrecht Veterinary Teaching Hospital and a private referral center respectively. He is not only responsible for clinical work but also serves as the training director of a large animal medical group.

Mark is highly proficient in echocardiography training and has taught practical echocardiography courses in various countries and regions in Europe and Asia. At the same time, he has also led several clinical research projects and co-authored dozens of articles.

Michele Borgarelli
Internationally renowned expert in veterinary cardiology, Full Professor of Small Animal Cardiology at Virginia Tech in the United States, Former President of the European Society of Veterinary Cardiology, Editor-in-Chief of the *Journal of Veterinary Cardiology*.

Professor Michele Borgarelli graduated from the University of Turin Veterinary School in Italy in 1989 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Since 1990, he has participated in the training of animal cardiology, abdominal ultrasound, and internal medicine in Italy, and gradually expanded his career across Europe and the United States. From 1995 to 2007, he worked at his alma mater, the University of Turin Veterinary School, as an assistant professor, teaching internal medicine and cardiology. From 2007 to 2012, he served as an associate professor at Kansas State University in the United States. Currently, he is a full professor of veterinary cardiology at Virginia Tech and the Director of the Comparative Cardiovascular Laboratory.

Since 1999, he has been a specialist member of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology). In 2005, he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree (Clinical Science) with a thesis titled "Canine Mitral Valve Disease".

Professor Michele Borgarelli once served as the President of the European Society of Veterinary Cardiology (ESVC).

From 2004 to 2007, he served as the President of the Italian Society of Veterinary Cardiology. From 2009 to 2011, he served as the President of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. He has written more than 75 scientific research articles, and his research interests mainly focus on the pathophysiology and treatment of chronic degenerative mitral valve disease in dogs.

Anthony Caiafa, BVSc BDSc MANZCVS
In 1978, Anthony graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree. Subsequently, he worked in a companion animal clinic for 17 years. He obtained the certification in small animal surgery in 1992 and the certification in veterinary dentistry in 1993. In 1995, he returned to the University of Melbourne for full-time study in human dentistry and graduated as the best student of the year in 1998, earning a Bachelor of Dental Science degree.

Currently, Anthony works as a dentist on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia, and also serves as a veterinary dental specialist at a veterinary specialist referral center.

From 2001 to 2008, he served as an associate professor at the University of Melbourne, and from 2008 to 2010, he was the President of the Australian Veterinary Dental Association. At present, he holds the positions of adjunct associate professor and lecturer at James Cook University in Queensland, and conducts courses and practical sessions on veterinary dentistry around the world. Ron Ben-Amotz, DVM, DACVS, DECVS, DACVSMR, DECVSMR, CCRP
Specialist in Veterinary Surgery in both the United States and Europe, Specialist of the American and European College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, Canine Rehabilitation Specialist.

After graduating with the highest honors in 2004, he has been engaged in small animal surgery work in the United States and Europe. He holds the specialist certifications in veterinary surgery from both Europe and the United States, and he is also a contracted lecturer of the AO Orthopedics.

Ron's interests lie in the orthopedics and sports rehabilitation medicine of dogs and cats. Neil Forbes

Neil graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in the UK as early as 1983. He is a senior veterinary expert in the veterinary industry in the UK and even across Europe. Although he is an expert in avian medicine for exotic pets, he is highly skilled at training younger generations and managing hospitals. He once served as the President of the European College of Zoological Medicine (ECZM) and was also the former President of the European Board of Veterinary Specialisation. Throughout Europe, one out of every three specialists in avian medicine for exotic pets is his student (resident veterinarian). He has run four animal medical institutions, including a large referral center.

Neil has always been passionate about veterinary teaching and guiding veterinarians on how to improve their clinical skills and hospital management. He is a manager with extremely rich practical experience. He has summed up a set of animal hospital operation and management courses consisting of 14 sessions, and he will publicly lecture on some of these courses in China for the first time. In 2023, Neil received the Award for Outstanding Contribution presented by the BVZS (British Veterinary Zoological Society).

Michael Kent is a Professor of Radiation Oncology in the Department of Surgical and Radiological Sciences at the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of California, Davis. Dr. Kent graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of California, Davis in 1997. After obtaining his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, he completed a rotating small animal internship at the University of Pennsylvania. Karl Jandrey is a Clinical Professor of Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care at the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of California, Davis (UC Davis). He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University in 1992 and completed an internship in Los Angeles. Subsequently, he served as the Director of the Emergency Service in Philadelphia, gaining experience in private practice.

In 1999, he joined the University of California, Davis (one of the world's top veterinary education and research institutions, ranking among the best in the world in multiple authoritative rankings.
