Speaker Introduction:
Tobias studied veterinary medicine and Scandinavian studies (literature, linguistics and culture) at the Humboldt and Free Universities of Berlin. From 1997-2000 he was the BSAVA Petsavers' veterinary diagnostic imaging resident at Glasgow University and then pursued an academic career as Assistant and then Associate Professor in radiology at the Universities of Pennsylvania and Wisconsin-Madison.
Since 2009 he has been a Senior Lecturer in diagnostic imaging at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh. He holds the radiology diploma of the RCVS, European and American Colleges of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging.
His special interests are computed tomography and thoracic imaging. He co-edited the BSAVA Manual of Canine and Feline Thoracic Imaging and the textbook Veterinary Computed Tomography. He is an author or co-author of more than 60 peer reviewed original and review articles in veterinary diagnostic imaging with an emphasis on computed tomography and is widely respected for his unique expertise in this field.
